Team NM and Alberto Crane Win, Drew Fickett gets TKO'd at RITC at the Santa Ana Star Center in RR,NM
This was the 1st time RITC ventured out of Arizona in 112 shows and 10 years in the MMA business and they didn't let down in what everything Roland "hyped" to me leading up to the event... Now I know the promoters job is to hype there event as the best, RITC lived up to being the best SW promotion PERIOD. There were 22 fights all action packed! The opening ceremonies gave it a PrideFC feel but with a U.S. twist. From the 1st fight to the 22nd fight there was KO's, TKO's, Subs, Low blows, and a TON OF ACTION! In the opening two fights back to back KO's. For Amateur fighter Joel Garvin it had to have been a emotion filled night as just a week or two ago his brother was killed and his KO win was dedicated to him. Team New Mexico came out and gave the pro-NM crowd something to cheer about by beating Team Arizona 6-5 in win/losses. In the nights biggest upset and most exiciting fight of the night Richard Villa out of Roswell,NM def. UFC vet Drew Fickett by TKO in the 2nd round sending defing roars though the crowd! In the nights main event Alberto Crane returned to his winning ways by securing a submission in the 1st round. All in all it was a great night of fights for NM MMA fans and MMA fans in general. If you didn't make it out to RITC this time around don't miss out when they come back to NM. In speaking with Roland he said they are planning to come back to NM at least 4 times per year from here on out! I would like to thank Roland and Barry for everything, they treated NewMexicoCombatSports/NewMexicoFIGHT.com VIP all the way!
